Indiana University Researchers Create New Model for Studying Student Learning at Scale

The ManyClasses experiment led by Ben Motz and Emily Fyfe at Indiana University represents a new model for studying student learning at scale. Using the Unizin Data Platform to integrate data from 17 different disciplines across 15 campuses at five universities, Motz and Fyfe could evaluate the impact of learning interventions across an unprecedented number of disparate learning environments. This approach, enabled by the UDP, is already revealing surprising insights: in this case that there is no overall effect of the timing of instructor feedback to students.  Looking forward to seeing the full study when it publishes in the journal Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science next month.
